Note: CND Super Matte is the WORST. Just so you don’t go buy it.

ULTA Professional Nail Laquer - Total Eclipse

This polish goes on really smooth. It really only needed 1 coat, but I used 2 just to get tiny patches. It photographs as a navy blue, but in person (yellow lighting i guess..) it looks almost black.

I took the picture without flash (below) so you could actually see the glitter.

I don’t think I could be more disappointed by CND Super Matte. I used thin layers (at least as thin as I could get it) and it made my nails just milky/cloudy looking. It still appeared glossy and didn’t give me the matte effect I wanted at all. Complete waste of money.
Since CND didn’t work out I ended up using e.l.f. matted top coat I just got a few days ago. This is how e.l.f.’s turned out on top of the CND Matte.
e.l.f.’s matte top coat worked so much better than CND. The application is a little streakier than CND’s but the matted effect is much better. As long as you get enough polish on your brush and put it on in 1 or 2 strokes it looks pretty good.
Considering e.l.f.’s only cost $2 and the CND cost around $10, I am really disappointed I bought CND’s first.
Note: Both Matte nail polishes have a pretty harsh smell. And by harsh I mean it was terrible. And by terrible I mean you should probably go outside and paint your nails. But it does go away for the most part after the polish dries. :/
The manicure would have definitely turned out better if CND’s top coat hadn’t been so cloudy, but I still think it looks okay after I used a second matte polish.
Has anyone else tried CND Super Matte? What did you think of it?
