So I posted earlier this week about my pledge class bar crawl, and here are the nails I did to match my shirt :)
I used Essie’s Grow Stronger base coat, 2 coats of Orly’s Snowcone, 2 coats of Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear White On, then Color Club’s black and white nail stripers, and a silver Stripe Rite. oh and 2 coats of Seche Vite. So much nail polish! And here are a million pictures…
:( I didn’t let it dry enough before I used my top coat so I got a little pull on my thump/pinky
and here we are at the second bar (not peace signs). the picture is fuzzy, kind of like my night.
Because Shatter and a silver stripe wasn’t enough I decided to add Orly’s Shine On Crazy Diamond to the butter LONDON Lady Muck.
This is China Glaze’s Skyscraper from the Metro Downtown collection. Pictures really don’t do this one justice. I wish I could have gotten one in the sun, but I put this on at night :(
Skyscraper is a navy-ish blue densely packed with silver micro-glitters. It’s amazing. At first when I bought this I thought maybe it would be a translucent jelly type that I could layer over other colors. Not the case. This is layered over Borrowed & Blue and the pastel blue was not even visible within the first coat. I used two coats of Skyscraper to build up the color. The application was great. It doesn’t go on streaky or watery, the perfect consistency especially for a glitter packed polish. I’m in love.
Today I have a polish I bought a while ago and just got around to trying it. This is Sinful Colors in Frenzy. I layered this over e.l.f.’s Dark Navy [which I was not a fan on—i’ll do a separate review for that one] and I think it looks pretty nice. As usual I had a hard time photographing my nails to capture the glitter/color. I think it always looks most realistic when it is out of focus so the last picture shows it like that!
I used 2 coats of Dark Navy polish and then 2-3 coats of Frenzy. I then used a top coat to get rid of the gritty texture from the glitter. You could probably use this polish alone, but it would definitely take a few more coats so there were no bald patches. I like layering my glitter polishes though.
This is your typical glitter polish. It takes about 6 cotton pads and half a bottle of nail polish remover to get off, but if you love glitter like me you’ll pull through. <3
