I need nail polish rehab.

Hi! I'm 21 years old from NJ. I'm an engineering major so to take my mind off the stress and workload I do my nails. There's a lot of stress... so I do my nails a lot. At least that's how I justify it to myself..
Hope you like!

So there’s this famous painting by Katsushika Hokusai called South Wind, Clear Sky. I liked it and decided to paint it on my nails. That’s what normal people do right?

I think it turned out pretty well :)

Polishes I used were

Here is the painting if you aren’t familiar with it:

So here’s a bunch of pictures :)

  • Base Coat - Essie Grow Stronger
  • 1st Layer - Wet n Wild Wild Shine Black Creme
  • 2nd Layer - Revlon Facets of Fuchsia
  • Top Coat - Seche Vite

I really love this Revlon polish. Surprisingly it is the first Revlon polish I have ever owned! At first I wasn’t sure if the black would be too transparent with the glitter, so I used Black Creme by Wet n Wild as a base layering coat just in case. I used one coat of Black Creme and 3 coats of Facets of Fuchsia. I probably could have done with 2, but I just needed it to cover in a few more spots.

The Wet n Wild also applies well. It isn’t a fantastic polish but it only required one coat for a fully opaque finish. The brush is just a little flimsy and hard to manage so I got a bit of nail polish on my cuticles.

Removal: This is a glitter polish that takes time to remove sadly. I just spent a half hour and 6 cotton rounds to take it all off. At least it’s pretty though!!

Wow, I am in love. Wet n Wild Fast Dry in Blue Wants To Be A Millionaire.

This polish is only $1.99 and it looked like I had thousands of dollars worth of diamonds on my nails. Maybe a slight exaggeration, but this polish really is beautiful.

It took 4 coats to get to this opacity, but as the bottle says it dries very fast. I used one coat of Seche Vite and that also helped quicken the drying time.

Overall, this polish gives good coverage and isn’t like an ordinary glitter polish that will take you a half hour to remove. I would definitely recommend buying it!

I’ve been wanting this polish for SO long, and every time I went somewhere it was sold out. NOT TODAY! I actually went to a different ULTA and they had every color I could have dreamed of. Fully stocked on everything. So obv I bought way too much. But here is tonight’s mani!

So for the first picture, I used 2 coats of Mermaid’s Tears. One was a tiny bit translucent so 2 made it perfect. I decided to do a gold tip because I love the teal/gold combination. I used OPI Glitzerland on the very tip and CG’s Gold Rush for the sparkle. As always Seche Vite top coat! This was probably the fastest I’ve done my nails in a while, so simple :)

xo

I got bored of the last manicure a little quick. I was excited to try something new with water marbling but that was a huge fail so I’m going to have to postpone that to when I’m more concentrated and have time. *and not watching hbo all night with my roommates.

So obv I couldnt just leave my nails bare after my failure of a new water marbling tape experiment so this is what I decided to do.

Here it is!
